adrianbloom Thu 13 Nov 2025 18:41:17 | Hi. New member, having recently purchased Whisper, a fabulous little boat that I can’t wait to get to grips with having downsized from a larger vessel. Sailing solo a lot I’m quite keen to have an anchor slung out the front for immediate use, how do people manage this? There seems to be a chain locker up forward with a chain feed going up to the bow facing the stern which seems slightly odd anyway look forward to advice cheers all |

Facing aft, at least it is pointing in the right direction to deflect normal aft travelling water over the bow. Seal it up on a boat this size. I have an anchor readied in the aft side locker. The end of the anchor line (eye splice or turned up) is secured on the fore deck cleat and the line led aft outboard of all shrouds and the anchor and suitable length of chain is stowed in the side locker, port or stbd, take your choice. Should you wish to anchor, lower it over the side from the cockpit and touch bottom then let the scope take the strain. Small boat small ideas. |
