Boat not exactly renowned for turn of speed and reckon good foil shape on main aint gonna make a huge difference.
When connected with lazy jacks beginning to sound like a nightmare as battened man more difficult to drop with batten cars sliugged into mast groove.
Donald Wright (another Donald) - Sun 23 Sep 2007 00:24:45 I tried lazy jacks (homemade) when the mainsail had only a bolt-rope and no sliders for the mast sail-track . In that situation it made a difference but to be honest the best solution I found was to have the mainsail "converted" from a bolt-rope only to one where it has sliders (if that is the correct term). The mast track now has a stopper fitted to prevent them all coming out (as a bolt rope has to) when the sail is lowered. I have not tried a stac-pack (yet) but could be persuaded...
