Just an easy sunday sailing in Croatia's lake There is big lake in the north of Croatia called Jezero Dubrava, which is really cool for sailing. Is not the sea, but it's very pleasing to go on daysailing. This video shows it all. Hope you can enjoy just a little bit. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx9mkKpkqnk1Wed 05 Apr 2023 11:56:52
Gennaker sailing Is there someone who sails with gennaker? I had very interesting experience using gennaker. First it was easy to hoist it (i had some 4 attempts the other day so I learned the lesson hard way) and sailing downwind 6.2 knots (Navionics info). It was madness, I felt like I was flying I didn't want to stop, but obvious I had to turn around, and put the gennaker down, so it was very interesting situation. I was alone on the boat so it was difficult to put the sail down, and it was few heeling pretty hard on the both sides. Gennaker was fulfilled with wind and 2s later it was empty, to it was pretty hard manouver but I somehow handle it. Wind was around 15knots, so pretty strong for small boat like Manta. Does someone have similar experience using gennaker, and what speed did you reached?5Sat 10 Jul 2021 23:19:06

Planing a Manta 19 Three Austrians from Yachtclub Breitenbrunn decide to check whether or not it is possible to make a Manta 19 plane. Insane video. Their advice: Don't try this at home! https://business.facebook.com/YachtclubBreitenbrunn/videos/35651511869143498Thu 28 Jan 2021 16:41:09
Second-hand sails Hi all, Just doing some research. If I wanted to get some sails for a Manta, but didn't want to pay for Jeckells to make another set, are there any places particularly to look for sails? Either Manta sails or other compatible ones? Has anyone done this? Or is it an impossible task? Many thanks!1Wed 01 Apr 2020 12:40:58
How much reefing Manta allows only one reef in the main sail. Anyone any idea if that's adequate with 5-6 bft?5Tue 04 Oct 2016 09:37:00
Genoa / Headsail Hi all, I have recently fitted a plastimo 406s furling spar to my Manta. I fear that for the past 3 years however i have had not the correct size headsail. Does anyone have the original dimensions for the genoa / jib please? Thanks Liam1Mon 18 Jul 2016 00:06:18
Spinnaker and asymmetric Hello Manta owners! I made a new 140% genoa this spring that has improved quite a lot the sailing especially in light winds. However, it is not very fast with downwinds. I have seen that the original brochure of this little boat says that there was a spinnaker available. Has anyone used it? has anyone the dimensions of the boom? Besides this, has anyone tried to use an asymmetric? (with or without bowsprit). Regards!1Tue 01 Dec 2015 12:49:09
new mainsail Hi all, I think my mainsail may not the original sail and in either case, i need a new one i think. Does anyone have the original sizing for the manta main sail please?4Mon 27 Jan 2014 11:50:06
Drying mooring Hi, Sorry if this is in the wrong area? Does anyone have any experience of keeping their Manta on a drying mooring? Is this ok or do problems occur with the keel box becoming jammed up with mud? Thanks LSat 01 Jun 2013 17:13:52
Reefing the mainsail I see from the manta instructions that the mainsail can be reefed but I cant see how on my sail/boom. No cringles in the sail and I cant see how you wrap it around the boom due to the kicking strap. Any ideas!1Thu 18 Aug 2011 09:13:19
single-handed sailing Dear Manta Sailors: Anyone experienced in sailing a Manta single-handed? Any tips & tricks to share? LuisWed 27 Apr 2011 15:44:17
Furling headsail Has anyone had a brand new furling headsail made to accommodate the original furling gear supplied with the manta? I have a rather large, lazy headsail which furls from the base in a blow but doesn't follow all the up the forestay! It gets rather messy and makes me want to get something a bit more expensive but can't quite belive that for such a well put together boat, the headsail isn't right! Has anyone any suggestions. dimensions etc? Many thanks. Peter B2Mon 13 Sep 2010 17:56:56
Kite sailing Rigged up third sail on a "run" at the weekend. Came with the boat and seemed to work well when hoisted with one end attatched to the front bow rail and the other a sheet leading back to the cockpit. A friend with me thought it to be a "Kite " sail. Has anyone else a third sail with their Manta ?Mon 13 Oct 2008 23:03:26
